In a remarkable joint operation, RPF Fatehpur and the DFC Security Prayagraj Unit successfully detected a theft case between New Malwa and New Kanpur within just 12 days of the incident being reported on 03.05.2026. The case involved theft of a copper strip and an LED monitor. Through continuous field coordination, the joint teams apprehended two suspects on 15.05.2026 and recovered the stolen property. What initially appeared to be an isolated theft case soon unfolded into a much larger breakthrough during interrogation. One of the accused confessed involvement in an earlier theft incident from New Malwa store in November 2025, where OHE copper string wires and other railway materials had been stolen after miscreants breached the boundary wall, broke store locks, and even cut CCTV wires to evade detection. The investigation further revealed a carefully planned operation involving individuals familiar with the station premises and local security systems. Based on the disclosures, another accused was apprehended with support from the local police, while efforts are underway to trace the remaining absconding accused. A joint window car inspection of the JNPT–Vaitarna section on the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor was conducted by Sh. Shyam Sunder Gupta (IRTS), PED/Infra (Railway Board), and Sh.
