Last week, we had our first ever masked reader(Mr. Cottrill). Students had to guess which school employee was disguised as Scooby. Only 4 classes guessed right. Thank you, Mr. Cottrill, for being a part of our fun! 💙💛⚡️

5th grade students made homemade butter and tried it. It was quite the hit! 💙💛⚡️

Halloween STEM Centers

Congratulations to Brady on creating the winner of the class shirts. All 5th graders will be getting a shirt, with his design and their names, thanks to DFE PTO. 💙💛⚡️

International Dot Day 2024: Students created a classroom art piece to make their mark in the world. All art work,for all 38 classes, are hanging up in the library. 💙💛⚡️

This week in STEM, students made clubs out of various materials. They used their inventions to play mini golf. 💙💛⚡️

Fifth grade t-shirt contest is underway. Winner will soon be announced. 💙💛⚡️ #library/STEM

Some incredible projects were turned in. Lots of thinking outside the box on something you could wear. 💙💛⚡️

To conclude our unit on owls, we invited Kayla and Houdini, the great horned owl, to our school. Great information and the kids loved it. 💙💛⚡️

DFE has been learning about different types of owls. This week we are dissecting owl pellets. 💙💛⚡️

This week students are learning about the importance of voting. They made the difficult decision on whether McDonald’s or Wendy’s had the best food. Stay tuned for voting results for DFE! 💙💛⚡️

Book fair is all set up and ready for students to shop on Monday the 23rd. #bestweekever 💙💛⚡️📚

Students are learning about the upcoming eclipse. We are very thankful for the donation of boxes from the community. Students can’t wait to try their eclipse boxes out on the 14th. 💙💛⚡️

This STEM activity was a hit. We learned about hurricanes and their powerful winds. Students invented a structure they thought would withstand high winds from Hurricane Swope. Lots of giggles and thought processing in this one. #futureinventors 💙💛⚡️
