USA is a massive producer of oil. a lot of producers shut down because it wasn't profitable. Now they can restart operations and dump oil onto the market because it's worthwhile now.
The sell the oil futures because they are happy to get $90-100/barrel. So it keep the futures down and when the futures settle they will deliver said oil.
Oil moved from 60-120 in a couple weeks. This only effects oil abroad.
So US makes more money and you want to long a commodity where every major player is happily dumping contracts to guarantee their profit.
They have better models they work with as they are well established.
You're a trader trying to long because you think you understand geopolitics.
