@fuckyouiquit While we're at it, can we make the totality of their compensation be a wage that is some calculation based on federal minimum wage? After that, we can match their health insurance to the common worker's policy, too

@Realronmexico99 @fuckyouiquit Yeah, you need good teachers and schools if you want people with kids to come and/or stay in your city. Spending more money on students sounds like an investment into the future to me. Unless you see evidence of crime or corruption, I'm on board with it.

@fuckyouiquit NYC public schools have lost almost 125,000 students in the last 5 years. New York is hemorrhaging students, while throwing good money after bad on 1000 more teachers for their dwindling classrooms. City is now spending $44,000 per student, the highest in the country.

That look you make when you taxed the rich, closed a $12 billion deficit, hired 1,000 teachers, launched free childcare, funded libraries and parks, held slumlords accountable, fixed 100,000 potholes, and built the fastest housing pipeline in city history, and some guy named Todd is still in your replies saying social policies don't help people.

@fuckyouiquit Does closing a 12B deficit mean back paying a debt or just fixing a prospective problem? Also, could you give some perspective on the NY state money? Is that a normal thing being pointed at to raise suspicion, or is it exceptional support to help an ambitious goal?

@fuckyouiquit I think it's also important to point out that their alternative of going to shelters is far from a cozy option. Theft, verbal violence if not physical. I don't know too much, but I know some people really avoid shelters.

@fuckyouiquit I'll bet the national average is skewed significantly by the top 1%. I'd be more interested in seeing the national median.

@itsginnydi People often treat my wife like the age she looks, which is about 10 years younger than she is. It's resulted in people talking down to her a lot, and it really bothers her. Is that at all why you don't like being told you look young? Glad to see good reflection on the subject.

@KaiInRealLife Adventures are terribly overrated. Nasty things that make you late for supper.

And not the “I want to see mountains again” hobbit or the “this is the furthest from the Shire I’ll have ever been” hobbit. I want to be the stay at home, happy with my pipe weed and ale hobbit.

@MrRhexx I've been appreciating really light vtts recently. Foundry and roll20 both make DMs feel like they need to do tons of prep making maps and walls and fog and light, ect. Owlbear Rodeo is an excellent light VTT that is easy to use and even let's me share soundscapes.

@marisharaygun I usually just listen to the CR episode and I love going through your highlights afterwards to catch all the visual things I missed.

@WatchFlake I highly recommend watching (or rewatching) John Mulaney's airline sketch for some much needed catharsis. Take care!

@WatchFlake I follow a lot of content creator news and it is a huge struggle for the vast majority of people in the field. Some manage it with the help of a team, but many just sacrifice their mental health for the sake of "the dream". It is an incredibly competitive and demanding field.

@JackieTetrault It's about the second age, so think the prolog from the movies. General reception since it's been out has been cautiously positive, but many are worried that it will disrespect Tolkien's world. I would like to watch it too, but since have prime.

I didn't grow up reading Tolkien, and unfortunately I was shown the LOTR movies before reading the books. I enjoyed reading "The Hobbit" and got through "Fellowship" but not the other two, and I don't have a great grasp on the worldbuilding. So, should I try The Rings of Power?

TurboTax: what would make your experience better Me: Could you please petition the government to simplify taxes so that common people can actually understand them? Ignore the fact that it would put you out of a job, just do it for the betterment of the country and its inhabitants

After seeing spoilers about which characters come back, I finally made myself watch "The Book of Boba Fett." 1st half was hard to get into, but I enjoyed the 2nd half. I only wish viewers didn't have to sit through so much to get to the continuation of Mando and Grogu's story.

I had to finagle some things a bit so it didn't feed the warlock quest, but of course, you could always do a more standard "end of your turn" wording after the quest rotates.

Could @wizards_magic please stop advertising Arena on my phone? It's bad enough that they did not make the app compatible with my phone, they don't have to keep rubbing it in.
