This is my favorite time of year for many reasons, and the Tournament of Books is definitely one. Huge thanks to the amazing @DPS109 librarians for making this so successful that we are in our TENTH year! Anyone can participate, so please consider voting (early and often!).

1st grade had fun creating a class shape poem. We read several poems about dogs & then created our own! The results were awesome! ⁦@LightFarmsElem⁩ ⁦@PISD_Libraries⁩

Talking with kids about books and nature is a fun and rewarding part of publishing. Hearing their comments and questions is the bonus. From a second grade boy yesterday following, "A beetle is tasty" (A BEETLE IS SHY, illustrated by Sylvia Long). "I'd eat a bug. And a spider."
