@CulturedFennec I believe leaving early when there’s no work is fine, I do that every day too. 😁
Usually, I aim to go home around 3 or 4 PM. From the morning until around 3 PM, I stay in the office even if I don’t have much work, just to show that I’m reachable.

@DHBWinner It's interesting to see how a standard corporation works compared to a start-up. Where I work we value more performing 100% as much as possible. If there's no work to do by the end of the day, just leave early, you earned it.
Of course, this isn't standard everywhere (´·ω·`)

When people think you’re “not there,” it usually falls into 3 categories:
1. You are physically absent and do no work.
2. You are physically absent, but still doing work behind the scenes.
3. You are physically present, but not doing work they consider valuable.
Ironically, in corporate culture, type 3 is often appreciated the most.
Whether your work is actually valuable or not, simply being present in the office gives people a sense of security. Your presence makes you approachable, available, and easier to communicate with. Even if your output is imperfect, people feel they can directly guide you and improve the quality together.
What I want to say is, no matter how bad your day was, always show up the next day and try to be helpful.
Don’t hide. Don’t run away from responsibility.
