@elonmusk "Well-modulated empathy is admirable; unrestrained suicidal empathy is lethal."

Read this book and give it to all your friends.
Survival of civilization depends on it!

TO BUILD NEW HABITS, start super small — so small you can’t say no.
Not “go to the gym for one hour.”
Not “read for 30 minutes.”
Just:
→ Put on your shoes.
→ Open the book.
Your brain does not like big changes. Small steps make it easy to begin.
Do the tiniest part of the habit. Once you start, you often keep going. Some days you only do the small step — and that is still good.
It is not about feeling motivated.
It is about making the habit easy to do every day. Start so small that you do it without thinking.

@perkmaybe Hello everyone! 🙌 I post about building habits and health. How about you?
English

@amooh001 Right. Just posting isn't enough. Real growth comes from staying in the chat and keeping things moving.

@GadSaad Congrats, Dr. Saad!
Elon's endorsement is huge. Musk highlighting the book like this should get a lot more people thinking about where empathy is helpful versus where it becomes counterproductive. Wishing the book continued strong sales.
English

@elonmusk This is a really important point. Short-term empathy feels good in the moment, but it often ignores the bigger picture and who ends up paying the price later.
We need policies that balance compassion with real protection for society.
English

Beware the empathy exploit.
Empathy is good and right when thought through (deep), but can be deadly to civilization when simply stimulus-response (shallow).
For example, releasing a repeat violent offender may feel good at first (shallow empathy for the criminal), but it is wrong to do so when that person will go on to hurt or murder innocent victims, as there should be deep empathy for future victims.

@elonmusk Transparency matters a lot on social media. Knowing that X’s algorithm is open for anyone to review makes a real difference. Glad X is taking a different approach.
