Thank you, also, for the kind words about my recent “chalkboards to chatbots” presentation. We’ve lived through other profound technological changes, and we have thrived. English teachers can adopt AI tools that help students write and speak more clearly in English. Students may outsource phone #s to smartphones, but how many will want to outsource their own perceptions and reactions to a computer? Many will still want to express themselves in both writing and speaking English. And we’re still in the early days. The future remains open with many positive possibilities.
