The custody staff have a very challenging job and are often the unsung hero’s of investigations. If I still wore one, I’d take my hat off to each and every one of them. #24hoursinpolicecustody

and get justice for families with victims very much at the forefront of why they do what they do and how they do it despite the personal feelings they have to hide. A threatening and intimidating custody sergeant is no help to anyone, especially the families.

Calling someone mate in custody or being compassionate is not a friend request on bookface, an invitation to a pint at the pub or a Sunday roast with the officers family. It is however a way of trying to keep the detainee calm, trying to stop them hurting themselves,

I understand it’s difficult to comprehend with the crimes people commit but it’s what they have to do. Jacob is an outstanding detective and it was Movember when being filmed so he was raising money for charity.

The personal attacks on my colleagues are getting out of hand on here. We’re not tv actors, we’re cops allowing ourselves to be filmed to try and show what we do and you only get to see a snippet of it during the program. Everyone worked their arses off to get these convictions

My Uncle passed away yesterday after a brave battle with cancer. He was a DC in Herts, mostly in Bishops Stortford. He retired in 2001. I wouldn’t be where I am today if not for him. Stand down DC 610 Sibthorp. Thank you for everything. @HertsPolice
