My deepest condolences to Arthur's family. Gambling harms are prevalent in our society and should be treated as a public health issue. @UKLabour must remove aim to permit now! We are all in this fight together to save lives especially of young men.

Damning coroner ruling links gambling to my constituent Arthur's death. My thoughts are with his family, who have fought for answers. @bet365 and @GamRegGB failed him and must now act. Every gambling-related suicide also needs full review to prevent future deaths.

On Tuesday, a coroner ruled that gambling disorder contributed to the death of a 19-year-old. There were clear signs of harm: 1,600 bets in 3 months; being cross-sold to addictive casino games; and many nighttime and excessively long sessions – but only one automated email and no human contact by the operator. thetimes.com/uk/london/arti…

Greta Thunberg has arrived in Greece following her deportation from Israel, after the Gaza aid flotilla was intercepted. Thunberg, along with hundreds of other activists onboard, was illegally detained by Israeli forces. Addressing crowds, she said: “I could talk for a very, very long time about our mistreatment and abuses in our imprisonment. Trust me, but that is not the story.” *Monday, 6 October 2025

There are still at least six UK nationals in Israeli detention, maybe seven. I've been reporting on this for days now and have spoken to several of their families. I'm becoming increasingly concerned for their safety. Conditions inside are really, really bad. The water is contaminated with sewage, and what little food there is is infested with insects and almost impossible to eat. People are exhausted, ill, dehydrated - and they are being denied essential, life-sustaining medication. Of the UK nationals still detained, two are in their sixties and one is in his seventies. At least one has been on hunger strike for days now. This is no longer likely to be just a frightening and unpleasant situation for them. There is a real risk to their lives. Yet @Keir_Starmer says their detention is 'a matter for the Israeli government'. This is utterly appalling. Aside from their treatment being dangerous and inhumane, their actions were entirely lawful. They were illegally kidnapped in international waters for trying to deliver humanitarian aid to starving people. Let's be clear, this is not just 'a matter for the Israeli government'. If anybody comes to serious harm, Keir Starmer and the UK government will absolutely be responsible too.
