DEBATE: Do Freemasons take blood oaths? If so, is it then wrong for Christians to become Freemasons?
James 5:12 "Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple 'Yes' or 'No.' Otherwise you will be condemned."
33rd Degree Freemason: I've not interpreted that verse as being anti-oath; it is anti-frivolous/malicious/misleading oaths.
Jay Dyer (@JayDyer): The blood oaths that are required for Masonry might be problematic.
Chase Geiser (@realchasegeiser): When I hear blood oath, I think of somebody actually cutting their hand open, and there is actually blood involved in the oath.
Jay Dyer: Don't you take an oath to have your throat slit should blah blah blah happen?
33rd Degree Freemason: There is penalties in these obligations. We won't discuss the specifics of those obligations. You can laugh at that. You can go find them online if you want.
33rd Degree Freemason: If you believe that those are literal oaths... is that your claim?
Jay Dyer: I know there have been cases like the William Morgan Affair where it was not interpreted as purely symbolic.
Zoomers interested in Gnosticism and Kali Yuga, etc. It’s all over the place now. Spiritual curiosity like I’ve never seen. Lots of Christianity, too, of course, but i don’t see much mention here on X of the other stuff.
Do Freemasons worship Lucifer?
Jay Dyer: "He's the one that brings light" (Quoting Morals and Dogma).
33rd Degree Freemason: "Love to take that one out of context, don't you?" ... "Here's the full quote."
33rd Degree Freemason: "What's your implication, Jay, that Pike worships Lucifer?"
Jay Dyer: "Albert Pike is a perrenialist, so, perhaps."
Jay Dyer: "He doesn't want me to say the next paragraph."
33rd Degree Freemason: "Say it."
Jay Dyer: "What does he then say about the Trinity and the Deity of Christ?"
33rd Degree Freemason: "Your implication is that we're Luciferian."
HEATED DEBATE🔥: Are Christianity & Freemasonry incompatible?
@realchasegeiser & @JayDyer go head-to-head.
Jay Dyer: Orthodox Christians can say the Pledge of Allegiance.
Chase Geiser: By that logic, then Christians can be Freemasons.
.@JayDyer comes out swinging in his opening statement against 2 Christian Freemasons:
"[Free]masonry essentially worships pee-pees and vijay-jays and says that those things are God."
@DJ__Bolger@realchasegeiser@JayDyer Respect for the honesty. I was in Protestant Bible study groups often with conflicting interpretations and asked: did Christians ever agree? Church history answered that. The early Church wasn’t divided like today. That’s what led me to Orthodoxy.
@DJ__Bolger@realchasegeiser@JayDyer I appreciated how you interjected to get the Mason’s position. And I think this debate also exposed people‘s lack of knowledge of church history and how we even got a Bible!
