Sexual abuse is often a taboo topic for men, especially Black men. Writing this article made me reflect & recognize the harm I've endured. Abuse affects entire communities, not just individuals. We cannot tolerate a society that protects abusers and silences survivors.

I was able to attend a Significant Women's event, and realized the difference a few articles of clothing makes. This was the first time in 15yrs I felt like a HUMAN BEING, and my mother had to opportunity to see me as a PERSON not a PRISONER!

Self hate is a lot different, when a person can't see the best in themselves. They can only see the worst in others. Where trust is absent skepticism exist. In the end how we think and feel about ourselves determines how we treat others

When you practice self love you begin to know the value of self and the value of others. Self love makes it hard to look at people and not see them as human. The most valuable resource we have on this planet is each other and our capacity to work toward a better future...
