Huge thank you to everyone who participated in our annual summer league this year! Join us in celebrating our champions this year!🎉 Varsity: Moundridge Small School Varsity: Berean Academy (Not Pictured) Freshman/CTeam: Reno County Junior Varsity: Newton

SIK Pre-Season Player to Watch: Kaizer Kanitz is a 6’1”, 175-pound athlete from Moundridge (1A), enters the 2025 season ready to lead as quarterback after starring at wide receiver the past two seasons. With a 36-inch vertical and solid strength numbers (220 bench, 350 squat), Kanitz has earned All-State and All-League honors at multiple positions and on special teams. As a junior in 2024, he totaled 46 receptions for 709 yards and 11 touchdowns, while also taking two punts to the house. His career totals include 60 receptions for 1,035 yards and 17 touchdowns, along with 7 punt return touchdowns. He also had the Moundridge school record for receiving yards in a single game with 205. We will see what he can do from the QB side of the ball this fall. “We have a great group of guys who have been working hard all summer,” Kanitz said. “We didn’t like the way our season ended last year and we’re using that as motivation.” Also a standout on the basketball court, Kanitz helped lead Moundridge to a state title in 2024 and a runner-up finish in 2025. He holds an offer from McPherson College. Kaizer comes from a strong athletic family. His brother Kreighton was an All-State basketball player and leading scorer on their state title team, while his dad Dustan Kanitz was the SIK 2024 2A Basketball Coach of the Year. #sportsinkansas Photo: Shelby Graber
