I am shocked and saddened to hear of the death of Liam Payne. It was a pleasure to work with him on our X Factor performance. God bless Liam, thinking of all his loved ones. He will be dearly missed.🙏

There isn’t a hurler in the country that deserved silverware (and his usual goal) in Croke Park more than Oisín Kelly! Two cruciate surgeries 18 months apart but never threw in the towel - you couldn’t but be happy for him!💪💚🤍💛

𝙊𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙚 𝘿𝙖𝙡𝙮 - 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙄𝙣 𝙋𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙚 Offaly GAA officials and supporters were saddened to learn of the death of former County Board Chairman, Ollie Daly, on Thursday of this week. In addition to his enormous contribution as a GAA administrator at Club and County Board level, the late Mr Daly was also a talented footballer and later served as a mentor with numerous club and inter-county teams. A hugely popular figure in Offaly GAA circles, with friends far and wide, his presence at games across the county and country will be sorely missed, for he always remained one of the most passionate followers of the Faithful County. Ollie Daly was still a teenager when he lined out with Ballycumber in their famous Offaly Senior Football Championship triumph in 1968 – their only Dowling Cup success. He represented his county at Minor and U21 level and played for his club for many years. Subsequently, he trained and managed several Club teams to success, while also guiding Offaly to a Leinster Junior Football title in 2001, and later the same decade was appointed as selector with the Senior team. Away from the playing fields, Mr Daly was Chairman of Ballycumber and Ferbane GAA Clubs (having moved to live in Ferbane for most of his adult life) and was Chairman of Offaly GAA County Board from 2005 to 2007 inclusive, having previously been Vice-Chairman in 2003 & 2004. His warm personality, and insightful knowledge of Gaelic games, will be sorely missed by all who enjoyed his company on a regular basis at GAA venues, and elsewhere. Sincere sympathy is extended to Mr Daly’s family, relatives and friends. Funeral details are listed below: rip.ie/death-notice/o…
