I have organized a new fundraiser for my dear friend @HebaEmGehad in #Gaza to help her and her family survive the genocide and to rebuild their lives. Please read her story, share, and donate if you can. gofund.me/cbb5449f

The president of TMU is bang on: “If Lena Diab, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship of Canada, truly intends to attract the world’s brightest graduate students, her ministry must resolve the barriers preventing these Palestinian scholars from reaching the universities that have already welcomed them.” #cdnpoli

Opinion: If Canada wants the world’s best graduate students, why are these excellent candidates being denied? Column from Mohamed Lachemi: trib.al/TkeI7qd

@tsmitheman Israel is an apartheid state actively committing genocide. Boycotting is a legitimate way for civil society to influence change when gross human rights abuses or large scale atrocities like genocide are occurring.

@stefcutter @Kalshi Kalshi is disgusting. It and all all its ilk will be banned soon enough. If you want to cash in on blood money, well that’s on you.

@DKomesch Why the fuck do we need Palestinian scholars? We have plenty of talent here. Go away.

Hard to recall a time when the elites/political class were so out of touch from the masses. There must be a reckoning on the horizon

Palestine has an incredibly strong culture that emphasizes education and Palestinians are highly educated. You may have seen that Israel committed a genocide in Gaza that included destroying nearly all the universities and schools. To fulfil their educational desires, Palestinians need to now study abroad. We should be so lucky that these talented individuals elect to study in Canada - they have a lot to contribute. #cdnpoli

First of all, the odds any of the 'best scholars in the world' are from Palestine are vanishingly slim. The Arab world has a very poor history of scholarship. Only one, in Saudi Arabia, is in the top 100 in the world, at 67. Wealth can buy scholars, after all. Second, no great scholar would go anywhere near TMU. It has a deserved reputation as a third rate university, at best, that lives entirely by DEI and virtue signalling, and exchews merit and scholarship.

@DKomesch Ha, ha, no. The best scholars in the world are definitely *not* form Palestine. What a dumb argument.

More war crimes by Netanyahu’s Israel. Yet Canada’s Liberals refused even to ensure Canadian arms aren’t used to commit them. The world must impose sanctions immediately. It’s the only legal and moral position.
