Bernard Hill was left out of the In Memoriam segment at the Academy Awards this year just like last year. It’s unacceptable. Ignoring an actor like Bernard Hill, whose work shaped films such as Titanic and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, shows how detached this ceremony has become from real cinematic legacy. If the Oscars can’t honor legends, what value do they even have anymore?
