Leaked Israeli military hospital records show over 5,100 troops killed and hundreds critically wounded in an Iranian precision strike on a central command hub. Iran's IRGC described the operation as "surgically executed against active military targets" with zero losses. Israel faces mounting internal divisions and protests amid questions about leadership transparency. — By Elite Network #BREAKING #CentralCommandStrike #BreakingNews #IranPrecisionPower #TruthEmerging #middleeast

Titus Kaphar – "Behind the Myth of Benevolence" (2014)... Behind the Myth of Benevolence (2014) is a mixed-media painting by Titus Kaphar. The work incorporates traditional oil painting with physical alteration of the canvas, cutting, folding, and draping, to obscure and reveal portions of the image. Kaphar’s work often engages with the visual language of classical painting, borrowing its techniques, then breaking them open. Here, he asks a direct question: who gets to be seen in history, and who has been deliberately obscured? Kaphar (b. 1976, Kalamazoo, Michigan) earned his MFA from Yale School of Art in 2006. His practice frequently references European portrait traditions while modifying them through physical intervention. His work is held in major collections including the Museum of Modern Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Kaphar gained wider recognition with series such as The Jerome Project, which used mugshots from the U.S. prison system. In 2018, he delivered a widely viewed TED Talk discussing historical representation in art. He co-founded NXTHVN, a nonprofit that provides studio space and mentorship for emerging artists. In 2019, Kaphar was awarded a MacArthur Fellowship (“Genius Grant”), one of the most prestigious honors given to artists in the United States. © Reddit #archaeohistories

Too young to vote at 18. Too young to drink at 21. Too young to sign a lease at 25. But somehow fully capable of consenting to childbirth at 12? The law doesn't protect children. It protects patriarchy.

I've met several women that regretted marrying their husbands. I have not met one divorced woman that regretted the divorce. They all felt healthier and happier since divorce.

The Treaty of Versailles included a clause demanding Germany return the skull of Chief Mkwawa, an East African leader who fiercely resisted German colonialism. In the aftermath of World War I, the world focused on Europe but the effects of colonialism stretched far beyond it. Hidden within the terms of the Treaty of Versailles was a lesser-known clause tied to East Africa and a powerful act of resistance. Mkwavinyika Munyigumba Mwamuyinga, widely known as Chief Mkwawa, was a leader of the Hehe people in present-day Tanzania. In the late 19th century, he led a fierce resistance against German colonial forces during the expansion of German East Africa colonial rule. His leadership made him one of the most formidable opponents of German imperial power in the region. After years of conflict, Mkwawa chose death over capture in 1898. In a disturbing act meant to symbolize dominance, German forces removed his skull and took it to Germany as a war trophy. But history didn’t end there. More than two decades later, after Germany’s defeat in World War I, the Treaty of Versailles included a demand: Germany was to return the skull of Chief Mkwawa to his people. It was a rare acknowledgment, however limited, of colonial injustice written into a global peace agreement. The search took years, and it wasn’t until 1954 that a skull believed to be Mkwawa’s was finally returned to Tanzania, where it remains a symbol of resistance, dignity, and the long memory of a people who refused to be erased. —If you love our content and would like to support the page, you can buy us a coffee here: buymeacoffee.com/africanarchives
