VAR is getting ridiculous.
If the referee doesn’t book Paredes, VAR can’t intervene and Embolo stays on the pitch.
Because Paredes was shown a yellow, VAR suddenly has jurisdiction and Embolo gets sent off.
The exact same incident can produce two completely different outcomes depending on whether the ref flashes a card first. That’s not justice—that’s a loophole.

I am ok with a yellow for simulation and if it is the second yellow the red card.
I am not ok that it was not called all WC and only called when Argentina benefits from it. If the Swiss would play anybody else right now Embolo would have not seen a yellow.
FIFA is trying to put Argentina into the final at all cost.

@USMNTCORNER The stars could’ve been such a good “every day” kit. The stripes are beautifully gaudy for game day, but not something I’d want to just throw on for a random Tuesday.
Shame they had to go lay an egg in the blues.

For the last 12 years, I’ve been afforded opportunities and memories that will last this sports fan a lifetime. On July 15, my time at JMU and in college athletics comes to a close.
Thank you to all the athletes, coaches, staff, media and fans who made this a fun ride. I am a JMU fan for life.
Excited for what’s next, as I’ll be returning to my hometown of Richmond to start my next chapter.

The truly frustrating part of being a lifelong USMNT fan is EVERY World Cup we see “less talented” teams challenge or outright beat the favorites.

I say this without snark. The soccer elite did a very poor job portraying USA’s chances to us non-soccer elitists. Watching that 4-1 Belgium win, here’s my freshly earned analysis: It looked like a 6 seed systemically handling business against an 11 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

@NealGardner_ Neither. We’ve gone out in the Round of 16 four consecutive tournaments we’ve been to now, that should be the baseline.
What we need is to learn how to overachieve that baseline because there’s a clear line in the sand of the quality of teams we can beat and who we can’t.

Really a shame to consider what Pulisic could have become, but has consistently squandered every opportunity to go and do it. Immensely talented, but just not “that guy.”
Landon and Deuce did more with less. Pulisic disappears surrounded by talent.
