A wonderful afternoon at @mullaghgaa for the official opening of the new biodiversity trail. I truly believe this is the sort of unique project that should be replicated nationwide. Delighted to support it with almost €340,000 under LEADER. #OurRuralFuture

To round of a historic week for nature restoration, I met with volunteers of Killyconny bog project in #Cavan to see work to #restorenature in action. An impressive group of people, surveying, monitoring and raising awareness of the importance of our bogs.

Just over a year ago; My mother Nora, casting a long shadow by my brother Sean’s grave on the left, and my father’s on the right. Today we carried her shoulder-high to a spot between them. I hope we did her proud. I know she’s now at peace.
