I've done more investigating into City of LA financial reports so now I have receipts to show that as of 12/6/24 (before the LA wildfires) the forecasted expenditures are $72 million HIGHER than the FY23/24 budget and $90M more than the FY24/25 budget. So again the discussion about a $17M budget cut on paper was always a distraction and pretext to absurdly attack Mayor Karen Bass. #reeciecolbertshow #reeciewiththereceipts

and by the way i think the takeaway here is not that we should hate poor uneducated people, but that the republican party directly benefits from keeping people poor and uneducated which is why they create policies which do just that

Black women will always do the work even when we don’t want to. We put our foot on the line, last minute, and still show up. And, I am so tired of this. Black women will be way overqualified and still get passed over for some mediocre white man.

Kamala Harris worked her ass off knowing America would be difficult to win and yet she took that responsibility on. Sacrificing her life and health (mentally and physically). I have so much respect and adoration for her. No matter what.

This weekend, I had the pleasure of casting my vote FOR @lateefahsimon WITH Lateefah Simon at the former Mills College, where I was Lateefah’s professor. I’m so proud to be passing the baton to her and I know she will be a fantastic representative for our community in Congress.
