@cognazor @csmaje Small farms died because the value produced per area became too small to provide for a family. Total US farm revenue is about $500B. There is simply not enough revenue to support millions of people to return to small farms.

A lot of people are giving her a hard time about this post, but I actually believe that a small farm renaissance is essential to a healthy future. Individual agency only goes so far, however, and as a society we need to figure out how to make this a viable option for young people

@SeedOilDsrspctr Likely more closely related to radon than glyphosate. The Mississippi valley uses chemicals as heavily as the Midwest but don’t have radon levels as high. Same for southern Georgia. Radon doesn’t explain low cancer in the dakotas though.
