@JoeWills387897 @OfficialClarets @AFCTotton Blackburn and Portsmouth, both ex Prem clubs, have had fixtures postponed this season because of waterlogged pitches, but a Tier 6 club is tinpot for it?

@OfficialClarets @AFCTotton Tinpot and a joke of a club for failing to get the game on and for having poor drainage which needs replacing later this year to prevent postponements like this one from next season onwards.

@Teamgrassroots_ Bully. Can’t stand them. You should have seen how brave he was if you approached him. You probably did the right thing as kids were there but not sure I’d have kept my head!

Message received from a Coach/Parent
Just wanted to share something that’s been playing on my mind. I’m a youth coach for an U13s team, and after our friendly on Saturday, the referee for the next game didn’t turn up. It was another U13 game —higher division, two strong teams. I happened to know a few of the lads playing as I’d coached some of them before.
Some of the parents and one of the coaches approached me and asked if I’d step in to referee, rather than have the game called off. I checked with both managers, who were happy for me to do it, so I agreed.
I did my absolute best, ran my socks off, and tried to make it a fair, enjoyable experience for the players. The match was a cracking one—ended 3–2. Unfortunately, after a decision regarding a goal kick or a corner, the losing manager lost his head.
He started mocking me—taking the mick out of me for wearing glasses, with people on his touchline laughing along. He then confronted me in quite an intimidating way, saying I should never be allowed near football again.
I’m a dad—my own son was there—and I also happen to be a paediatric doctor, so I spend my life working with children and understand how important it is to set the right example. I chose not to respond and walked away, but to be honest, it’s still bothering me.
I gave up my time, volunteered for free, just to help the kids get a game of football—and this is what I got in return.
Did I make a mistake by agreeing to ref? And how do I stop feeling so low about it?
Sorry for the long post, and thanks for reading.
