🎓 Senior Spotlight: Lilly Goose Goodwin #6 A true legend in the making, Lilly “Goose” Goodwin has left a lasting mark on Desert Mountain Softball through her talent, leadership, and unforgettable presence in The Den. Wearing #6 as a dominant LHP/1B, Goose has helped set the standard for what it means to be a Wolf, and she will continue her academic and athletic career at Northwestern University to play softball. For Goose, DM Softball gave her some of her best friendships, relationships that have truly changed her life. Some of her favorite memories include the team bus rides, bonding with teammates, Liv rounding second on a play she should have been out on, and Sloane’s famous scorpion slides. Softball has taught her patience, positivity, and perseverance, especially in a sport where failure often comes more than success. Moments she will never forget include the bus ride home from State her freshman year with everyone excited, along with the team’s first bus ride and the “scooter” adventure at Red Mountain this season. Her pregame rituals include always putting on the same sock and shoe first, along with wearing sunglasses throughout warmups. Her walk-up song is Start A Riot by Duckwrth and Shaboozey. Goose gives a special shoutout to both of her parents for their constant love, support, rides, and for always allowing her to be herself. Her advice to the next generation of Wolves is to enjoy every moment with teammates and friends because it all goes by faster than expected, and in the end, the funny, silly, and unforgettable memories will mean far more than any batting average or ERA.
