DMV Live

The Judge has been a fixture at DMV Live since the inception of our event in 2019 and will be missed by so many. DMV Live was always thrilled to have him in the house. He will be sorely missed. He brought smiles to so many with his positive energy and radiant smile. 🙏

Alexandra Vandiver @ALove30_2026 put up one of the best stat lines in DMV Live history during our girls event this summer. In a win over Shipley school Vandiver posted: 44 points, 24 boards and 5 rebounds. At 6’1 she is a dominant force on the inside and should make a lot of noise for the Saints in 2025.

PVI @PVIGIRLSBBALL was among the front of the pack at DMV Live Girls in 2025. The Panthers went 3-1 including a thriller over St. Frances. Amaya Ramey @Amaya_Ramey helped lead the way in the front court attacking and protecting the rim and stretching the floor hitting some 3s.

Qayden wasn’t the only Samuels who showed out at DMV Live this summer. His sister Qandace @QandaceS balled out during Girls Live at Bullis. Qandace was the head of the @BMacLadyHoops snake as they went to 4-0 getting it done on both ends of the floor. Qandace is a rising junior and will be the next Samuels pursued by a plethora of D1 schools.

Nobody made an impression at Girls DMV Live 2025 quite like Potomac School @PotomacGBB guard Sabrina Anderson @bri_bri_bigfoot . She led Potomac School to a flawless 4-0 record behind just under 29 (not a typo, 29) points per game including a 40 piece on 68% from the floor. The 5’8 guard may be the best shot creator that showed up to any gym in DMV Live’s three weekends and is absolutely box office every time she steps on the floor.

Elton James @officialelton33 showed up with Winston-Salem Christian @wschristian_mbb and seized the stage of weekend 1 of Live 2025. In four games James put up 18.75 ppg on a ludicrous OVER 60% from the floor. James got it done on both ends too totaling 7 blocks in four games. 6’8 James picked up at least seven new D1 offers after his showing at DeMatha and will definitely be a name to watch down south.

Another out of town team that came up to Madison Street and held their own was The Academy of Central Florida @theacademycfl . The Golden Bulls are an imposing presence in any gym with seven players listed at over 6’6 on their roster. At Live they were anchored by 7’3 Symon Ghai @symon_ghai and 6’3 guard Martay Barnes @ROCKOUTMARTAY . They went 6-2 picking up wins over local powers like St. Frances, DeMatha and national powerhouse Oak Hill.

Bishop Ireton @IretonHoops posted an impressive 6-1 record through live and it was largely thanks to Silas Devonish @LdfSilas . Devonish has always been a true point guard, but his scoring prowess has gone to another level. He put up 24.5 ppg and knocked down 31 threes over 7 games. In the process he collected his second D1 offer from @StetsonMBB . Other coaches would be wise to follow suit or they may find themselves getting lit up by Devonish in the future.

Clinton Grace @CG_Basketball has recently established itself as one of the premier programs in the area. At the heart of this has been floor general Lonnie Lyons @2lonnie__ . Lyons showed his well roundedness as a PG putting up close to 14 ppg 5 assists 2 steals and just one turnover per contest. For his efforts Lyons was rewarded with several high major offers including @NovaMBB and @IndianaMBB .

An under-the-radar top performer from DMV Live 2025 was @MtZionPrep’s Abdul Rashid @Abdulissah0 . In five games between session 2 and the warm-up Rashid posted 14.6 points 7.2 boards and 1.6 blocks per contest. He was an interior force on both ends and ran the floor relentlessly getting easy buckets. Look for him to have a big final 2 seasons with the Warriors.

DMV Live has been hosted by DeMatha Catholic High School since its inception and they have competed in it every year. This year @DeMathaHoops posted a 5-3 record against 8 rock solid opponents. Paced by the high energy back court of Ace Meeks @AshtonMeeks03 and Jamaal McKnight Jr. @jamaalmcknight3 . Meeks exploded for two 25+ point games while McKnight was one of the best facilitators of the event averaging over 4 helpers a game. The Stags best win was a thriller over Gillion Academy in which Meeks post went for 29 points.

A perennial DMV contender that Bruce Kelley @BruceKelley1 has built at Bullis came into 2025’s Live Period without some of the staples of their recent roster namely Adrien Stevens. Bullis’ new roster highlighted by Xavier Skipworth @xavierskipworth (who missed over half the teams games) and Finley Billy @FinleyJBilly stared down a gauntlet of a schedule and walked out the other side 5-1. The Bulldogs demonstrated they aren’t going anywhere with wins overt teams like PVI and Mt. Zion Prep.

Gillion Academy @GillionAcadTeam were box office throughout both sessions of DMV Live. While their man in the middle Marcis Ponder rightfully draws a lot of the attention, the backcourt combination of Willie Burnett @Burnettwillie_ and Aaron McGee @theAaronmcgee spearheaded a 3-1 session 2. Both displayed high level shot creation and range with just one game under double digit scoring between them both weekends. Look for them to make a strong impression in the schools first year in the DMV.

Oak Hill @oakhillhoops made the trip North to participate in the 2025 edition of DMV Live. The retooled Warriors in the post Steve Smith era posted a 3-1 record with their only loss by 2 to the Academy of Central Florida. Their roster features at least 4 high major prospects potentially none more impressive than Janon Singh @TheReal_Janon who posted over 16 points and 6 boards a game on outlandish 60.4% from the floor.
