Monster Manual Expanded 2024 will be unleashed in May 2026 on the DMs Guild! The 2024 update to the 2019 Adamantine best-selling Monster Manual Expanded arrives this May 2026 on the @dms_guild! More than 470 statblocks have been comprehensively revised to align with the latest format showcased in the newest Monster Manual, elevating the entire bestiary to current design standards. This edition also features brand-new cover art and a handful of select interior art upgrades to match its refreshed presentation! Due to the scope of the overhaul, Monster Manual Expanded 2024 will release as a separate product, though existing owners of the 2019 version can take advantage of a special discount bundle! It will initially be PDF only, with the @roll20app and PoD versions arriving a few months after. More details to come in the next couple of months!

Deadly Denizens Vol. IV March Art Preview #2: Serving as our second art preview for the month of March and rooted in traditional Balkan folklore, the Bauk is a terrifying fey creature descended from bugbears whose blood has been irrevocably warped by centuries spent in the gloom of the Shadowfell. Resembling a gaunt, misshapen ape with elongated arms and shadow-matted fur, this spiteful predator moves with a sickeningly ungainly gait to silently stalk its prey through caves, dark ruins, sewers, and dim forests. Though inherently skittish around bright campfires and loud noises, these solitary hunters project an unsettling aura of dread, lunging from the darkness to snatch unwary travelers and village children before vanishing back into the gloom.

Deadly Denizens Vol. IV March Art Preview #1: For our first art preview of the March issue, I'm excited to share that you will be getting a new set of formidable ogres! Continuing my Volume IV goal of addressing gaps in the 2024 Monster Manual, one of the very first creatures I needed for my own campaign was a proper ogre boss. If your game requires more than just the standard CR 2 brute, this upcoming release provides a roster of specialized ogre warriors, spellcasters, and fearsome bosses!

Deadly Denizens Vol. IV Feb Art Preview #3: I just realized that ever since I began Dragonix’s Deadly Denizens, I have not created a single otyugh variant. That oversight is about to be corrected. The February issue will feature up to four new otyugh variants lurking within its pages: the Otyugh Abomination, the Eldritch Otyugh, the Retchmaw Otyugh, and the Rothide Otyugh. Each one twists the already grotesque refuse-eater into something more specialized, more dangerous, and far less predictable. If you’ve grown tired of dropping the same standard otyugh into your dungeons, these variants should offer fresh encounters and new tactical surprises. Expect belching, filth-lobbing, aberrant eye glaring, plague-spewing, and other putrid horrors that feel at home in sewers, ruins, and places best left undisturbed.

Deadly Denizens Vol. IV Feb Art (Legendary) Preview #2: The Legendary Tier version of the February issue introduces some new ettin variants, including the Half-Dual Dragon Ettin. As shown in the artwork, this ettin carries the lineage of two chromatic dragons, red and black, granting it both fire and acid breath. When it unleashes Dual Dragon’s Breath, the hybrid giant can use its Acid Breath and Fire Breath in the same turn, in any order and direction, and can even overlap the areas of effect, making it possible for a single creature to be struck by both devastating attacks!

Deadly Denizens Vol. IV Feb Art Preview #1: When I began Volume IV, I mentioned that I wanted to focus on creature groups I felt were underrepresented in the Monster Manual 2024. The first issue tackled kobolds, followed by orcs last month, and for February the spotlight turns to Lizardfolk! Volume IV leans heavily into a green-tinged aesthetic of slime, corruption, and creeping decay, so expect denizens that fit this theme!

Deadly Denizens Vol. IV January Art Preview #3: One of my favorite archetypal main villains to use in adventures is the Blackguard, yet there is currently no 2024 updated version available. Because of that, I created my own interpretation, shown here clad in dark armor regalia, wielding a greatsword crackling with necrotic energy, and attended by an imp minion that hisses cruel suggestions on how best to torment its enemies. This incarnation of the blackguard is presented across four escalating tiers: the Blackguard (CR 9), Blackguard Commander (CR 13), Blackguard High Lord (CR 17), and Blackguard Exarch (CR 21). The latter three tiers are all equipped with Legendary Actions, making them ideal recurring villains and high-impact bosses for mid- to high-level play.

Dragonix's Deadly Denizens Vol. IV January (Legendary) Art Preview #2: I want to share the start of a new series for this year’s content. I’ve explored Abyssal and Infernal templates in the past, and while I am not diving into those template conversions just yet, I am diving into a focused theme: Fiendish Giants. The first to appear in the upcoming Legendary Tier issue is the Fiendish Fire Giant. This entry includes four statblocks total: two Abyssal Fire Giants and two Infernal Fire Giants. To support a wide range of encounters, one Abyssal and one Infernal version feature Legendary Actions, making them ideal centerpieces for major confrontations. Whether you need a terrifying mid-tier threat or a commanding high-tier boss, these fiendish giants are built to anchor encounters and challenge experienced parties. Expect to find other fiendish giants in later issues!

Dragonix's Deadly Denizens Vol. IV January Issue #2 Art Preview #1. Last month marked the start of Deadly Denizens Vol. IV using the new Monster Manual 2024 ruleset, beginning with a trio of kobold variants, each supported by four distinct statblocks. This month, the focus shifts to Orcs! The release will feature twelve total orc statblocks: four types of orc warriors, four types of orc archers, and four types of orc spellcasters. Together, they provide everything needed to populate and run a complete orc clan, from frontline bruisers to ranged support and battlefield casters.
