I’d be disappointed if they manipulate Caissie but we’ll see I guess. Everyone starts out unproven but getting a consensus Top 50 prospect into your lineup still counts as an added bat (unproven? Yes but still)
I wanted Morel as an OF bat at beginning of offseason so I’m hopeful. But disappointing that he was there 1B answer, no doubt.

@DM__MIA that’s true with weathers, but caissie is still not proven and who knows if they even start him in the majors because you know they love their service time manipulation, and morel is just another bride / wagaman. might bring more power but strikeouts more and is a worse defender

Marlins were 79-83 and in the Wild Card hunt until the last series of the season
Bendix roster is in the range of a playoff team again in 2026 but there are fair questions:
1. National League is a JUGGERNAUT
2. Depending on a lot of youth (possible regression)
3. Pending CBA

@AntonioArchil11 The Marlins opening day rotation last year was Sandy, Gillispie, Meyer, Quantrill and Bellozo bro.
Sandy, Eury, Paddack, Meyer, and Brax clears that. White getting hurt sucks but him plus snelling in the wings helps.

@AntonioArchil11 I mean, Weathers had a total of 38 IP last year so losing those 38 innings ain’t exactly the factor you’re making it seem here from year to year. Eddy will be missed if healthy but Caissie is absolutely a bat added.
Can’t bank on Morel but I’ll take him over Bride/Wags

I can’t even remotely counter you for this thought because I recently was just thinking the same thing (i.e., the difference in what they’d pay Arraez over Morel being worth it) but I also don’t think it’s a make or break thing
If Morel hits or Ramirez moves over or DLS gets promoted then fans will show up with winning

@DM__MIA i think this year the marlins will make the playoffs ive been saying this for almost the last 2 months.... The Phillies are old... I dont think the mets have gotten better even with those additions... The braves didnt do much either and already with injuries and the nats are nats

@FernSig01 Agreed, cause again for as simple as it sounds…this is all about winning. Literally the first playoff game in that park is sold out and popping. It’s tha simple when you’re in a city that front runs. The problem? Or course, is you typically have to spend to win lol

Exactly, baseball is an outlier type of sport. Lots of things can happen. The Marlins do need to make a splash soon. Whether it’s in the draft and through development or a free agent.
We can’t cry we have the ability to mirror the WBC excitement without having a legit Superstar.

It’s why I love seeing people projecting them around .500 or above but man, hard to feel overly confident about that. Praying for a fast start this year, which is something we haven’t seen in quite some time. If you start fast, get Mack and others up…then you’re talking.
