@Tonysmarkettips I don’t have access to that data but to the naked eye this year he was met behind the line much more often than years past, and did not get as many yards after first contact, but I could be wrong

The 49ers struggled to run the ball in 2025, tell me why after hearing these facts: 1.) PFF says the 49ers had 2 of the top 4 best run blocking tackles in the NFL (!) 2.) OPOY candidate at RB 3.) 10th best run blocking C (PFF) 4.) 13 RBs faced stacked boxes more than CMC, even though he had the 2nd most carries. In other words, the answer isn't because defenses were stacking boxes because they weren't respecting the passing game 5.) Their RG ranked 22nd/81 in run blocking according to PFF 6.) Two very good run blocking TEs (Tonges graded better than Kittle) 7.) A very creative play caller 8.) Kyle Juszczyk

@CoachCrocky I also would ask schematically what are you gaining by sending the tackle downfield? Is he blocking the conflict defender you are targeting with the slant? Is the slant now an opportunity throw? What do you gain by not locking down the end.

Offensive coaches.. how do you block up your second level RPO’s? Leave the end unblocked AND read the backer OR block the end and read the backer? 🤔

@CoachCrocky I did. If you have a DE that is always coached to surf you might be able to get away with it. I think a heavy dose of that might make teams gameplan to tell their DE’s to hit the QB when unblocked. At our level most ends when unblocked run straight into the QB

Doing some simple logic math: -Likely a very expensive FA class of WR -Extremely deep WR draft class -Relatively solid FA class of TE -George Kittle recovering from a torn Achilles -Seattle's vaunted D was most vulnerable against TE (see LAR games and loss to 49ers) -49ers coming off worst rush efficiency under Shanahan – clearly tied to TE absence(s) An optimal route might be for the 49ers to spend in FA at TE to create a 1-2 punch with Kittle and restrain themselves financially at WR (B-list) but dip into the draft there. This would theoretically leave $$ resources for a splurge at C (Linderbaum) or even RB to pair with CMC. Of course, the defense also has needs. Even with $57m in salary-cap space, the 49ers must budget intelligently to carry over significant $$ into 2027. That's their operating structure

@CoachAHarrell11 3 years ago I started making playlists by concept at the end of the year. Watch each list and put down what you notice. Our quick game had a front and backside concept at the time and our QB all year never progressed to the backside which led to us changing.
