Last evening I was in the gallery testing the format for the opening on Friday and a man walking down the street stopped at the door and looked inside. I asked him if he would like to come in, and he said he was on his way somewhere but seeing this piece made him stop in his tracks “because it was so different” I told him this piece was by @DMsjel an artist from Germany who was in our show this First Friday. He said he would definitely come back for that. I love it when I see art that moves people.

AOTM is pleased to announce a new curation titled, ‘Whispers & Closed Doors: Cryptoart and Cypherpunk.’ The online auction will feature the following artists: @adhd143 @ALCrego_ @annaxmalina @c3naaX @computerblood @DrifterShoots @EmpressTrash @hafftka @killeracid @PepenardoStudio @ROBNESSOFFICIAL @sabatobox @5tr4n0 Ideas around using cryptography to secure digital privacy and mitigate censorship were developed underground throughout the 1970s and 80s, then coalesced in the 90s. Rooted in a dark, suspicious vision of the world wherein technology could be used against society, the Cypherpunk movement adopted those same technological arms as a means of protection, rebellion, self-expression, and contrarian community building. This curated collection brings together digital works by 13 artists that demonstrate the rebellious spirit and dystopian sense of social (dis)order at the heart of blockchain-based or “cryptoart." The online auction will begin on June 18, 2024, with all details to be announced via official AOTM channels. Artwork previews, bids, and purchases will be available on AOTM’s website.
