🙄 No, Star Trek was about society’s social issues of the 1960’s. Those issues over the years may have become political issues but with the network censors: they never would have allowed political issue storylines to air.

That is an absurd thing for someone like @WilliamShatner to say. The original Star Trek was INCREDIBLY political even by the standards of its time. The main difference between it and most sci-fi properties, though, is that its progressivism is universalist in nature.

Sad we are stuck with two parties. One hates America and the other (GOP) has done little, but the GOP is still MUCH better than the party that hates us. Not showing up to vote just hands the power back to the party who hates us. Not a good choice.

This country has a two-party system. You either get Republicans or you get Democrats. If you stay home and don't vote for Republicans, you get Democrats. If you think that Democrats are better for America than ineffective Republicans, you need your head examined. If Democrats take over Congress, Trump's final few years will be completely ruined. Look how much Trump has gotten done in his first two years, even with a weak Congress! But you're just gonna sit home and let Democrats take over? What is wrong with you?

The Senate GOP has exactly two options if it wants to avoid drifting into irrelevance and a stunning loss in November:
(1) Keep the filibuster and 60-vote cloture rule fully intact, but stand ready to overcome Senate Democrats’ unprecedented pattern of obstruction by aggressively enforcing the “talking filibuster”—a move that would require senators to work longer, harder hours and take fewer recesses, but lead to more thoughtful, careful deliberation in the legislative process,
OR
(2) Nuke the filibuster.
I strongly prefer the first option.
But we must choose either one or the other—because the status quo isn’t working and the resulting inertia isn’t just making it impossible to pursue a coherent agenda; it’s hurting the American people.
