@SlappyPlays@danthomasobrien@AFL@Ticketek_AU It's an AFL/ticketek gouge because each barcode registered will be charged a non-refundable $6.00 fee, so they make four teams' worth of supporters register knowing half of them will pay for nothing when their teams lose their preliminary finals.
#aflsunslions transport from the game is a nightmare. 25+ minutes and counting to get from stadium towards the highway at nerang. Rail works between nerang and beenleigh (so bus instead) undoubtedly adding. Road is grid locked. Massive fail by Brisbane & Gold Coast transport.
@yibbida@ChrisRobSports Umm, I think you were watching a game from previous years. Umpiring was atrocious - e.g., a mark taken 1+ metres inside the boundary be ruled out of bouds.
@Elijacobs102@AFL Yes, it was perfectly adjudicated. Consistent head protection, Marks, holding, holding the ball, marks within but apparently outside of the boundary line, completely unnecessary score reviews (to destroy game tempo). It was perfect.
Some media keep saying #TestCricket is dying. Well, great crowds at the Gabba & across Australia this season. NZ v Aus series already sold out. We love test cricket. It’s not going anywhere. #AUSvWI@zanofc@eddiecowan@CorbinMiddlemas
@NurtureOfNature@NHMRC_Sapphire@nhmrc Re Epub versus 'print' (i.e., print volume issue) date: yes, the (earlier) Epub date would be the appropriate date to use as they should have the same DOI and are the same publication (e.g., citations are merged for Epub & print).
@NurtureOfNature@NHMRC_Sapphire@nhmrc The FAQ-6 answer reiterates ensuring that a preprint falls within the 10-year inclusion period. I don't think the answer notes the difference between preprint and Epub. Hence my suggestion to examine DOIs as although related a preprint and Epub are not the same publication.
@NHMRC_Sapphire@nhmrc
Investigator Grant:- we have confusion. For a publication is it the print date or epub date that counts? You had an addendum (less than a week before deadline) about preprint date vs epub, and now we are in chaos over epub vs print? #nhmrc
@NurtureOfNature@NHMRC_Sapphire@nhmrc So if a preprint is >10 year, but Epub is <10, I suggest it is definitely legit to use the Epub and its date (and there's an argument for even the publication date).
@FellowsNational The Investigator Grant scheme is just plain awful. It sucks too much money out of the NHMRC pot, leaving too little for other schemes, esp. the Ideas Grant scheme. A minority of lucky (scoring is inconsistent) and select winners at the cost of the overwhelming majority of losers.
Congrats to those successful with NHMRC investigator grants today, also thinking of the hundreds that were unsuccessful - the disappointment, frustration, sadness, anger. NARF will keep on advocating for greater investment in biomedical research

@DrElenaSF@EmpiricalRD@gregory_kj The latest NHMRC Tracker (31 July) states: "NHMRC is working to finalise the 2023 Investigator Grant outcomes as soon as possible and applicants can expect to be advised of their outcome in late August/early September, prior to the opening of the 2024 Investigator Grant round."
@DrElenaSF@EmpiricalRD@gregory_kj According to 'Page 9' of the 'Investigator Grants 2023 Peer Review Guidelines' (#download" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">nhmrc.gov.au/funding/find-f…) "Late August":
