Hosted at Shalom House, the evening brought together filmmakers, partners, and friends of Docubox to reflect on the journey so far and to welcome the next era, filled with renewed vision, community, and possibility. Here’s to 13 years of storytelling, and to the future ahead.

THROUGH OUR EYES: #ShortsShortsShots2025 WAS PURE MAGIC! What. A. Night. On October 19th, Shalom House Gardens transformed into Nairobi’s ultimate celebration of African creativity, style & storytelling — where film, food, fashion, and music collided in one unforgettable vibe.

We laughed through "Story za Njamba" by @DavidWaronja, reflected on identity with "HOME" by @ADELLEO, and vibed to the fierce fashion of "The Incredible Sensational Fiancé of Ajayi" by @abbmona. Not to forget the film horsepower of Irabura: The Odyssey by Rose Kambua& @isayaevans

Through Kenya Create, Get Reel & Follow The Leader films, we sparked bold dialogues on parenting, sex education, SGBV, governance, protests, civic duty & community resilience. These films proved what we believe: storytelling is power.

It’s a WRAP for the Nyanza Impact Screenings! 🎬 From Nyalenda, Ahero, Manyatta, Kibos, Obwolo to Dunga Beach – over 1,000 community members came together for five days of powerful film screenings and fearless conversations.

More than stories, these films became mirrors & catalysts for action — proving the power of cinema in civic education, peaceful advocacy & social transformation. ✊🏾

Films like 🎬 Home(Adelle Onyango), Bella Is Dying Maybe Next Week, What Shall I Wear To My Funeral, 318, Before 16 & The Red Line reflected real community struggles — surfacing urgent issues on SRHRJ, trauma cycles, youth & accountability.

When stories spark change, communities rise. 🎥Deep convos on governance, sex ed, identity, leadership, protests, SGBV, parenting & support systems lit up the last 2 days of Follow The Leader, Get Reel & Kenya Create impact screenings in Nyalenda, Ahero, Dunga Beach & Obwolo.
