dogecoin lore - unlike bitcoin's fixed rewards for solving a block, dogecoin started with random rewards (between 1-1m) cuz i thought it’d be funny turns out you could figure out the next block reward and miners wouldn’t mine lower rewards so we had to remove the randomness 😭

Fun fact: Because Dogecoin mints a fixed amount each year, the inflation rate falls over time: about 3.6% now and heading towards 3.1%

First question many people will have is, how does this signature secure the transaction. Well, right now - it doesn't. But remember that the entire premise of distributed ledgers like Dogecoin is consensus. Think about it in the other direction. Someone could build a Dogecoin client that accepted spends without any of the present-day cryptographic checks as well - but transactions made by that variety of client wouldn't be accepted by the majority of the network (lack of consensus), and would not be valid. The same goes for a PQC signature; essentially it would be a UASF where the majority of the nodes on the network decided that a valid signature like this must check out before a transaction is accepted as valid. It wouldn't require an overhaul; just agreement on the majority of the network that the post-quantum signature attached to the transaction has to be valid for the transaction to be valid. If Falcon-512 works as it should, that portion could not be spoofed, cracked, or manipulated by quantum systems; the PQC shared/consensus proof validation would not pass. Not saying this is the final answer, but that work is ongoing.

We've been running experiments on Dogecoin mainnet where we attach a post-quantum proof (using Falcon-512 and similar quantum-safe signatures) to normal Dogecoin transactions. Here's how it works: - We create a normal transaction like you would when sending DOGE. - We add a small commitment (a short fingerprint of the quantum-safe signature) using an OP_RETURN message. This is called TX_C (commitment). - We also create a tiny temporary carrier output that holds just 1 DOGE. - Then in a second transaction called TX_R (reveal), we spend that carrier and show the full post-quantum public key plus signature right on the blockchain. The 1 DOGE comes straight back to the original address (minus a small fee). This lets us prove on-chain that a quantum-safe signature was created for the transaction, without changing how Dogecoin works today. The extra carrier step is completely optional. The small commitment alone is enough for most testing. We're still in the early experimental phase, but it's exciting to see real post-quantum proofs appearing on mainnet. Work is happening in the libdogecoin repo with testing tools and a BIP draft ready if anyone wants to look or help. cc @michilumin @KBluezr @DogecoinFdn @tjstebbing

Rumor has it that @michilumin and the @DogecoinFdn crew have sucessfully executed an experimental post-quantum secure transaction on the dogecoin mainnet. 💥 Experimentation continues ..

📢 An Important Message to Our Community. Effective immediately, Dogecoin is undergoing a full corporate restructuring. We are proud to introduce: DogeCoin Financial Solutions LLC™ As part of this transition, we will be: ▪ Retiring the Shiba Inu logo in favour of a tasteful navy blue emblem ▪ Launching a 67-page whitepaper titled 'Toward a Synergistic Decentralized Liquidity Framework' ▪ Rebranding our community from 'the Doge army' to 'Stakeholders' ▪ Discontinuing use of the words 'wow', 'much', and 'very' across all communications ▪ Scheduling the moon for FY26 Q3 Our legal team has advised us not to say 'wow.' as it has been determined to be a forward-looking statement (that should not be taken as financial advice.) We believe this pivot positions DogeCoin Financial Solutions LLC™ for maximum enterprise scalability and shareholder value optimization going forward. The dog is still here. She is wearing a tie now. She did not consent to this. — The DogeCoin Financial Solutions LLC™ Board of Directors
