Today DOSHS in conjunction with Oshpro Services conducted a one day training to the beauty and Salon Workers to sensitize them on key hazards in their workplace. The training covered topics on Chemical Safety, Ergonomics and the legal overview on Occupational Safety and Health.

Today, I led the culmination of Kenya’s ILO Conventions 189 and 190 consultations at All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi, signaling a move from dialogue to action. Convention 189 aims to formalize and dignify domestic work with fair terms, social protection, and formal recognition of domestic workers as essential contributors to our economy. #DescentWork #ILO #DomesticWorkers

A delegation from Doshs led by Dr. Nyandusi convened at the senate to have a consultative meeting with the Senate Committee on Labour and Social Welfare on the state of health and safety in the country. #ILO

I joined my CS today during the Parliamentary session before the Labour Committee, where I highlighted the urgent call for increased funding to the State Department for Labour. CS Mutua emphasized the need for substantial funding to effectively manage the department’s responsibilities. During the discussions, I raised concerns about managing salaries and allowances, appealing for the Labour Committee's assistance. Hon. Ken Chonga expressed support and promised to pursue the necessary funding to help fulfil the ministry's mandate.
