Nothing can prepare you for the amount of tears you actually cry on your child’s wedding day! I thought I was going to burst with love and pride. Such a magical day. Couldn’t love these two more if I tried ❤️

@miconm In one of our schools we still have the original floors in the main hall that dates back 80-90+years and they still look and function as good (if not better) than a replacement. Each time I see that space I always think about the number of children that have walked that floor!👌

@DOpsSBL Yes absolutely! And it’s solid oak - it should last at least as long as Victorian pine floorboards!

@miconm That sounds really good and you get the benefit of ‘recycling’ the existing flooring rather than ripping out and starting again! 👍

@DOpsSBL The cost to refinish is about the same per M2 as fitting. But you don’t have the cost of new floor & removing old one 😎

@DOpsSBL Yes I had a floor company in. They’d previously done our pine floorboards. They sanded the oak & refinished with a water based matt lacquer. Floor didn’t need any repairs but they can do that too.

@miconm Ohhh floor looks great! What did you have done to them? I have oak floors in most of my ground floor that we installed about 15 years ago and they could ready do with a renovation but not sure where to start, did you ‘just’ have them sanded and re varnished?

Love how the floor looks. It’s a mat finish & looks like new!

Last day of term reflections and I’ve just realised that I’ve completed my 20th year in education! How can that be! Education at times is hard but there is no place I’d rather be than in my current role, in my current organisation working with our schools! Bring on term 7!
