Under the leadership of Commander Vernal Newson and Captain Shannon Hampton, The Detroit Police Department's 6th Precinct was named, Top Performaning Precinct of 2024. On behalf of Commander Newson and Captain Hampton we give a round of applause to the Men and Women in Blue.

MARCH IS WOMENS HISTORY MONTH 🩷👯‍♀️ Today, the ladies of the DETROIT POLICE DEPARTMENT celebrated Women’s History Month during their fourth annual Women’s Empowerment Walk!! Our very own, Captain Shannon Hampton also shared words of encouragement to everyone!

🚨SAFETY SESSION WITH OFFICERS 🚨 Today our Neighborhood Police Officers spoke with children at a local daycare about gun safety, stranger danger, and more! The kids were EXCITED to gain three new friends who happen to be Sixth Precinct Police Officers! Awesome work!

Our Neighborhood Police Officers assisted Force Detroit with their gas giveaway today! Force Detroit filled the tanks of over 100 cars at the BP gas station located on Joy Rd and Southfield Fwy! ⛽️ 🚘 We’re happy to serve the community in any way! Awesome work everyone!

DPD held their annual Faith in Blue Award Ceremony, Where they recognized officers for their dedication and service to all the citizens. The 6th Precinct Special Operations Unit were awarded with the Medal of Valor, Purple Heart, and Life Saving Awards. #sensationalsixthprecinct
