Time is a cruel and relentless bastard. Having read Alastair Reynolds Prefect books I thought it worth revisiting Revelation Space and ensuing books. Looking at the pages of the paperback I thought to myself, 'Hang on a minute, these pages are yellowing like those in old SF books in my collection'. I then flipped to the start of the book and realised my copy is 24 years old. 😂

@brunoborges @sdkman_ combined with @gradle java toolchains in my projects so I don’t need to switch or configure jdks per project in my local, the config lives with the project’s build scripts

@DPUkyle I preventively replaced the VANOS with a rebuilt unit from Dr. VANOS in 2018 (at 205K Mi.). It's been problem free :)

Well, I see our trusty E46 has now driven the (average) distance from the earth to the moon. Had I known we were going to keep it this long, I'd have ponied up for the vertical travel option.

@martinbonnin @_JamesWard Toolchains won’t download if a matching candidate already exists on disk. Run `./gradlew javaToolchains` task to see a report of the installations “seen” by Gradle.

@_JamesWard I'm kind of moving away from toolchains. No need to have a toolchain downloaded if there's one on the host already. Plus incentives to install Java 21 on host machines.

Apollo Kotlin now writes the remote build cache in CI Which means if you check out the project, you can just get those "link$FooArm64Binary" from the cache instead of compiling locally which should be much faster! ge.apollographql.com

Honestly, I think this was the best version of the @gradle logo. The fierce-looking elephant and the happy little bird make for such a compelling duo. I could imagine them getting up to all kinds of hijinks together. A very Banjo-Kazooie / Snoopy & Woodstock dynamic here.

"Just add the JAR file in the class path". And I was that naive, that I thought I could play with OpenCSV just like that, with a single JAR file, and no Maven/Gradle/Ant... #OpenJDK desperately needs a basic dependency management tool based on Maven GAV coordinates. #Java
