As a food technologist myself, who has worked in Food Safety & Quality at one of the world's biggest MNCs, let me tell you exactly how serious this is and why heads should roll.
Every glass surface in a food production facility should be numbered & logged. Every single tube light should have a shatterproof covering. This isn't optional. This is baseline GMP.
Glass inside a chocolate bar means one of two things:
-Foreign body entered the machinery before the production run and production line not checked prior to the run or
-Something shattered during the run and nobody caught it
Both scenarios represent a catastrophic breakdown of process control.
The moment glass contamination is suspected, or someone later on finds anything broken, you stop the line.
You conduct RCA,reconcile every single fragment.
If even one piece is unaccounted for-you destroy the batch or recall the quantity of the batch you suspect would be contaminated. The entire thing even additional to ensure safety, Non-negotiatiable this is.
The deeper problem? This shouldn't have reached a consumer in the first place.
Glass is a known physical hazard, it must be explicitly addressed in the facility's HACCP study which is a food safety study for ensuring food that is produced is safe to consume.
If a chocolate bar with glass inside reached retail shelves, this means that HACCP either doesn't exist, was never validated, or completely failed at verification.
This isn't a quality complaint.
This is a food safety incident.
And it needs to be escalated because this might put someone's life at risk.

Saved for 12 years for daughter's wedding. Corpus: ₹25L.
Daughter (age 24): "I'm marrying my boyfriend. Court marriage."
Parents shocked.
Wedding budget: ₹2L (small function). Remaining 23L: What to do?
Daughter: "Invest it. Give me when I need."
Invested in balanced mutual funds.
7 years later: Corpus: ₹82L.
Daughter needed home down payment. They gave her ₹40L.
Still have ₹42L left.
Moral:
"Big weddings burn money. Small weddings build generational wealth."

An example from the past illustrating how UGC rules, if implemented, can be weaponised to settle personal vendettas:
Dr. Vaibhav Jain was a meritorious student at Indore Medical College in 2012. His MBBS classmate, Neha Verma, asked him to fill the medical entrance exam form again and sit behind her sister Pooja in the exam to tell her answers and help her pass. Vaibhav refused.
Neha got angry and retaliated by creating a fake Facebook profile in his name and uploading obscene content, then implicated him under the SC/ST Act, alleging he used casteist slurs. Vaibhav spent 50 days in jail and even took his second-year exams in handcuffs. Despite completing MBBS, the case blocked his chances of a govt job.
He fought a six-year legal battle before being acquitted. But imagine the trauma, embarrassment, struggle, and stigma he and his family endured for no fault of theirs.
UGC rules add an internal, low-threshold complaint route where allegations can trigger immediate academic or administrative action without rigorous scrutiny. Along with the SC/ST Act, this can be used to escalate pressure and settle scores faster.

This man spent almost four decades fighting a ₹100 bribery case. By the time justice came, his whole life was already gone.
- He was accused in 1986
- Convicted by a lower court in 2004
- Now the High Court says there was no solid proof to prove bribery.
39 years. Just to prove he did not take a ₹100 bribe.
If justice takes 39 years, what exactly are we celebrating? This is not justice, this is system torture.

Shocked by the registration of FIR and sudden dispatch of urgent notice against @ajeetbharti by police under the BJP coalition govt in Bihar, over a single rude word that he used for a Congress politician five months ago. Unhinged vindictiveness.
I stand with Ajeet.

Three different rulings from the same judge:
"Maybe the 14 year old consented" (no charges)
"He didn't know 13 yr old child rape was illegal" (no jail)
"Stabbing your rapist during rape is illegal" (jail for stabber, no jail for rapist)
The UK is not a real country.

The problem with India now is, the opposition is totally ineffective, and no one from the ruling party is questioning the decision makers. They come to parliament to show their lung power and get out
The Media, less talked about it, the better it is.
If any one in social media questions, they are hounded in packs, very few can tolerate the abuses, insinuations, below the belt attacks, character assassinations done by online bouncers.
So the decision makers are having a home run and they are getting away with it. Result the decision makers are surrounded by "yes men" and "an echo chamber". Voice of the people is not being heard
Before 2014, the talk was that most decisions are made in Lutynes club. Similarly I fear if this dispensation has also fallen into the same mould as it's predecessor.
#ugc has opened many eyes .

Serious question for Policymakers & the Judiciary:
If calling a Dalit by caste name is a criminal offence under the SC/ST Atrocities Act, why isn’t abusing a Brahmin or any other caste by caste name treated the same way under law?
Is justice selective, or should equality apply to everyone?
