I somewhat hear you’re saying. But flip it, I think it’s fair to say some white people don’t know who who Malcom X and Huey P Newton (for the sake of this argument) is and how influential they were to us
Now say if they were lightly poking fun and had no idea who these people were, no matter the intent, black people would take it to heart. I get the “black people have to maneuver in a white world” but all this does is create resentment/more racism when we do it

Nothing wrong with fans rooting for athletes bc they're the same race. We all do it. Black folks did it with Serena. Asian folks did it with Linsanity. But black Serena fans weren't sending vile emails to Kournikova. Asians weren't out here calling NBA players slurs. Fact is whenever right wing white folks get behind a cause, shit inevitably gets racist.
