Officer Mercer at Madison Correctional Institution recently delivered care baskets made by incarcerated persons to the residents of a local assisted living. Excellent work by Officer Mercer and the men incarcerated at MaCI to give back to those in need in their community!

This generosity is encouraged and supported by incredible staff members who inspire these men to make a positive impact beyond the walls. We’re proud of their effort to lift up those who have served our country.

Chillicothe Correctional Institution’s veteran coalition came together to donate to Dress Right Dress Inc. Even with limited resources themselves, the incarcerated men chose to give back to veterans in the community who are facing difficult transitions and need support.

Thanks to Richland Correctional Institution’s (RiCI) staff dog daycare and grooming services, RiCI was able to donate $4,000 to support local animal welfare programs! Shoutout to Mandy Roush, Mikeala Monk, and Monica Zirkle for representing the RiCI team in the photo.

Ohio Parole Board Member K. Kovach recently spent time with the Adult Parole Authority. #DYK most people under DRC supervision are on post-release control, not parole? Post-release control is supervision following sentence completion, while parole is a discretionary release.

Men incarcerated at Trumbull Correctional Camp participated in the first “Bridges to the Community” meeting, where they virtually met with halfway house staff to learn about the services and expectations of a halfway house.

Lorain Correctional Institution recently held an informational presentation for Black History Month titled, “Black History: The Evolution of Neighborhood and Community Centers”. The event was well attended and filled with great discussion!
