🇺🇸 Imagine being a government scientist so deep in classified UFO research that your retirement plan is "die and let my kid leak the files." That's apparently the pipeline now. Jeremy Corbell says families of deceased insiders keep mailing him hidden documents their loved ones left behind. Not once. Routinely. There is a man out there receiving classified UFO files the way normal people receive work emails. 2 of the 11 missing or dead US scientists had ties to Los Alamos. The cybersecurity chief's son handed over his dad's entire stash. The documentary drops May 17th. At this point the real conspiracy isn't what's in the documents. It's why so many of these guys keep not making it to retirement age. Source: NY Post

🇺🇸 UFO researcher David Wilcock committed suicide minutes before cops showed up, just days after he publicly said he’d NEVER kill himself. He was no scientist, mind you, far from it. Still, there has been a string of weird deaths hitting scientists and engineers working on advanced tech, and people were quick to point out the similarities. Weirdest thing of it all? He was born in Rotterdam (NY) and died in Nederland (CO). The universe really went full circle with the Dutch symbolism... Source: TMZ, Boulder County Sheriff

The IGN review of Mouse PI For Hire is like a parody of game journalists. They gave the game a 6/10 (reminder that they gave Black Ops 7 a 7/10) for the following reasons: -Too many cheese references (in a world of mice) -You kill too many people (yes, really. You kill people in a shooter, what a surprise) -There isn't enough noir (in a game inspired by 1930s Mickey Mouse cartoons) -Too many references to old movies (in a game explicitly inspired by 1930s cinema) -There's too many arenas where you have to kill all enemies (in a fucking boomer shooter) -The game's story is not serious enough to be a true noir (when did the fucking game ever CLAIM to be a true noir? It's a fucking cartoon) This motherfucker seriously looked at a satirical game inspired by 1930s Mickey Mouse cartoons and expected to play LA Noire or some shit. Games journalists are not real people, man.

A must-watch clip. @KonstantinKisin asks, “How will AI destroy humanity?” AI safety expert Roman Yampolskiy explains why that’s the wrong question. We assume AI will think like us. It won’t. A superintelligence could act far outside human understanding, like humans compared to squirrels. It wouldn’t need to hate us. It could wipe us out simply by pursuing something else. And the uncomfortable truth? We’re not in full control. @romanyam explains that we don’t code these systems, we train them, then study what they become.

@midiconch I am all for challenging the standard model. The kinds of people doing it are exploring theories of mechanical ether with actual math and publishing work on it. Not what Eric is doing... whatever that is.

Einstein is not the problem. Weinstein is the problem. So what if the speed of light is a constraint? So what if there are no good atmospheres in our system? So what if the rocket equation is a bitch? We are humanity. We took rocks, smashed them together and made them think. We took atoms, smashed them together and made them spin our turbines and send electrons far away towards the rocks. We took fire from the Gods and rode on top of it to heaven. If we will fix enough stuff, we will brave multi-century journeys towards the stars. We will take inhospitable rocks and turn them into gardens worthy of the name... paradise.
Camus@newstart_2024

“Einstein is the problem.” Eric Weinstein didn’t mince words on Triggernometry. If general relativity holds, we’re trapped on one fragile planet. Even terraforming the Moon and Mars only gives us three reachable spheres — nowhere near enough diversification for long-term survival. A single catastrophe could wipe us all out because we all share the same atmosphere. The only real escape, he argues, is cracking physics beyond Einstein so we can get very far, very fast. Otherwise we’re stuck playing cosmic Russian roulette. It’s a sobering wake-up call about how dangerously misaligned our priorities have become.

One Hour until ny interview with Bob Lazar goes live! To say that this is a highlight for me is an understatement. Started this channel just a couple years ago and have worked so hard to make the best content I possibly could and here we are. Bob’s story inspired me, and so many others, to pursue the very outer limits of our curiosity. Make of it what you wish but his effect on this topic is undeniable and has created generational intrigue. Today, you’ll hopefully see what I see when I look at the man directly in the eyes. I see regret for coming forward, not for the hate, not for the debunking, not for the attention, but regret that he could no longer be part of potentially the most important work being done in the history if our species. Thank you, Bob. Thank you Luigi and thank you all for tuning in to one of the biggest milestones in my career and in my quest for answers. 🛸

Color does not exist in physics. Color is a co-creation between the wavelength of a photon and Brain that tags visual images for internal representation inside the mind. In a certain sense, mathematics is such a co-creation between the external logical order of pure systems and our human tagging of their representations within our minds. @edfrenkel has been at the forefront of wanting to embrace math as inextricably human. Poetic, elegant, erotic, violent, passionate, overpowering, mystical and transcendent. Russians. They’re like that. 🤷‍♀️ Well, right now that is actually THE question. What happens when the machines become full partners or even take over mathematics? This is the hardest thing the human mind knows how to do that really means something. And we have had it all to ourselves among species. One could now be forgiven for asking: will the first great computer theories of mathematics humanize the Machines the way it humanizes us…and brings us together across language and cultures. Or will the beauty be pearls cast before soulless robots. Let us not forget as we tetter on the brink of all out war, that we in the U.S. are fighting both against and for representatives of the civilizations that gave us Al-gebra, and Al-gorithms. Hope. For the best.

We live in a volatile world, which sometimes feels hopeless, but I'd like to remind us of certain human qualities that bring us back to hope and allow us to imagine a more harmonious world, in which we can all thrive. This sense of hope comes from an unlikely source: Mathematics. Let me explain...
