Very excited to launch my 2026 MOVIE WATCHING THREAD. This thread contains brief thoughts of every movie I watch this year, new or old. 1) THE TESTAMENT OF ANN LEE (dir: Mona Fastvold) Amanda Seyfried stuns in this bold historical musical about the rise of the Shaker movement.

Netflix dominoes are falling, David Fincher is now getting the “Greta deal” (the first deal) and will debut Cliff Booth movie in IMAX theaters globally over Thanksgiving and then on Netflix for Christmas. AMC facilitating this despite the short window.

Brunson’s Masterpiece. I’m in awe.

#91) JAWS (dir: Steven Spielberg) (rewatch) Second time in two years I've watched this one. The warm weather made me want to revisit it again, even when I said I was going to skip it in my Spielberg rewatch/DISCLOSURE DAY preps. (9.5/10)

#90) AMISTAD (dir: Steven Spielberg) Heavily flawed historical drama that never really tops its violent first 20 minutes, but what works in this is great. The actors who are well-cast are terrific, and its repetitive pacing and bluntness is saved by great craft. (6/10)
