Steven Spielberg explains why he didn't like 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom' (1984) & why he felt he was fated to make the movie:
“I wasn’t happy with 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom' (1984) at all. It was too dark, too subterranean, & much too horrific.
I thought it out-poltered 'Poltergeist' (1982). There’s not an ounce of my own personal feeling in 'Temple of Doom'.
I look back and I say, ‘Well, the greatest thing that I got out of that movie was I met Kate Capshaw. We were married years later that to me was the reason I was fated to make 'Temple of Doom'.”

A 7-foot college basketball player thought he was walking into a routine film session but ended up seeing his mother for the first time in five years. Norbertas Giga left Lithuania to play in the United States and had not been home since 2013. His coaches at Jacksonville State secretly flew his mother to Indiana right before a major tournament. They lured the senior center into a room and joked about needing his mom to discipline him before she finally walked through the door. He was so shocked that he briefly ran away in disbelief before breaking down in tears and embracing her.
