I'm currently working on a complete US Genesis collection. I'm only about 40% of the way there. Even though Genesis games came in hard cases that could easily preserve a manual, I've found it extremely hard to find complete in box games. Most are just the cartridge and box.

Every third console the companies become filled with hubris. Xbox 👍 360 👍 Xbox 1: always online, no game sharing, Kinect required PS1 👍 PS2 👍👍👍👍 PS3 high price, difficult to develop for, overheating PS4 👍 PS5 👍 PS6 high price, no disc drive

@JoshFairhurst Maybe that’s the strategy. Make enough noise about discs and they say “okay okay well keep making discs.” Then nobody notices the PS3 and vita stores close.

You may remember that Sony announced the closure of the PS3 and Vita stores back in March 2021, but loud backlash caused them to delay that decision for five additional years. Hopefully the noise about discs has been just as loud and Sony calls this off for the time being. 🤞

what sucks is that you can still buy physical media for movies and music. you can still buy a CD for new albums! the options are still there. it's wild to just be like "no options from now on"
