We then finished the day with a movie and some art and crafts with pupils making "Champion Belts" to decorate and pass out to the teachers of @DuncanrigScndry who they considered to be their Care Champions. Many many thanks to the people who made this day a massive success!

Care Experienced Ambassador Michael Moynihan was up next leading the pupils on work on "How Duncanrig Secondary can continue to improve the experience of our care experience young people" gather the pupils voice and also bravely sharing his own care journey.

Duncanrig today celebrated our 5th annual CareDay to mark the release of @ThePromiseScot and remind ourselves of the importance why we must #keepThePromise. The day started with Care Experience Champion Carmyle summarising the main points of The Promise

We are so proud to announce that we were awarded the Outstanding Educational Practice Award at the @whocaresscot Corporate Parenting Awards 2024. So many inspirational stories that remind us why @DuncanrigScndry will continue to #KeepthePromise.

Finally Ally Berry from @EastUniversal came to impart his wisdom and sense of humour . Covering mental health, resilience and delivering a session in mindfulness everyone left with massive smiles and feeling much more relaxed. Thank you to everyone in making this a special day!

We were then treated to cake and some lovely barista drinks. Many thanks to the many corporate parents who came to network with the pupils including @skillsdevscot @whocaresscot @SouthLanChamps @KilbrideTeam @EastUniversal and all the @DuncanrigScndry senior leadership team.

Today @DuncanrigScndry we recommited to #KeepThePromise by hosting out 4th annual CareDay celebrations in the school. All of our Care Experienced young people were invited to share their experiences and celebrate their community.

"All children should grow up loved, safe, and respected." On the 4th anniversary of #ThePromise, First Minister @HumzaYousaf reaffirms our commitment to Keep the Promise by 2030. Watch to find out the progress we have made to improve the lives of care experienced children.

Many thanks to Francesca from @actnforchildren who will be speaking to all our S1 pupils about what it means to be a #youngcarer in the coming weeks. Lots of important information passed to our young people to help build our school #community

Our recent Christmas Fayre ran by the @DSSpupilsupport Nurture Groups raised £320 for @KilbrydeHospice Well done to everyone involved. Delighted to pass on the cheque this morning!
