Young writer contends K-State/KU football game “might have its most juice ever” in 2026. Not close. When No. 6 KU visited No. 14 K-State in 1995 it was the national game of the week, and a very intense week prior to arguably the most highly-anticipated Sunflower Showdown ever.

I searched Google for a photo of all 2026 Big 12 Conference football head coaches. Google gave me a picture of retired Alabama head football coach Nick Saban and current Texas head football coach Steve Sarkisian of the Southeastern Conference.

K-State basketball announces several former student-athletes will participate in the NBA Summer League — Marquis Nowell (Pelicans), Coleman Hawkins (Nuggets), Nate Johnson (Thunder) and Nae’Qwan Tomlin (Cavaliers). K-State’s last NBA Draft selection was Keyontae Johnson (2023).

We have the Wildcats for No Stone Unturned Gala tonight. A great night of appreciation and celebration for Stone, the Wolford family, and all the amazing staff and volunteers at No Stone Unturned in Manhattan. Expecting to see nearly 100 old guys who I wrote stories about.

Ran into K-State President Richard Linton while writing at Bluestem Bistro. We exchanged a fist bump, a good morning, and he went on his way, adding that his family loved my stories. Forgot to ask him if he wanted to write my story today.

Last year, I was told Avery Johnson was an overrated quarterback — that’s what some K-State fans told me, at least. Those K-State fans will really be upset at the story I’m writing today.
