@omozay If and when United next win the league they would have double the amount of people than all of us. No one doubts Arsenal are a huge club but this constant ‘this means more’ and narrative that no one else would and could celebrate like this is total nonsense

@DTS4th 1000% it would be the same for any of the big clubs.. Liverpool would’ve been carnage after this first premier league title.

@DTS4th they’re just a very culturally relevant club so I get it, you’ll always get a halo of casual fans outside of the hardcore fan base! just don’t like men going out of their way to slander women for being “fake” fans when people of all genders are casuals

@eljoyce_ Arsenal have loads of fans and a massive fanbase but supporting Arsenal is like an accessory for some people now like wearing louboutins or a gucci bag people I’ve never seen talk about Arsenal now and making it their whole personality. Probs don’t even know who Ian Wright is

@BlueBlood2510 I’ve seen loads in the last few weeks but I agree I’ve no idea where a lot of these people were 5 years ago. Not doubting they have a loyal fanbase but so much about them is manufactured and gimmicky

@DTS4th Also I don’t think I’ve seen so many Arsenal shirts on the streets. Hardly see any on a regular match day, now they all pop up

Lots of Arsenal fans I know who have been there through thick and thin that I congratulated but they have an awful lot of the ‘this means more’ brigade and people that don’t like football but suddenly have made supporting Arsenal their whole personality that massively grates
J@CR2SE25

I think my main takeaway today is that I feel for proper old school Arsenal fans who have been going for 10+ years. I've never seen such weird behaviour at selhurst than I saw today. Fully grown adults behaving like just complete freaks. Thank god I don't support such a club

@jamalthetenth Not one thing I’ve wanted to happen this season has materialised so I’m already resigning myself. Would be far worse than them winning the league for me

@ZG1999_ I think Colwill and Estevao can be totally absolved this season imo. Maybe Joao Pedro. No one else though

Xabi’s big remit next season (as well as getting CL) has to be building a connection between the team and the supporters and the fans looking forward to and enjoying watching the team play again because that wasn’t even the case in Maresca’s first season

@Luke1990W I think Alonso is doing an awful lot of heavy lifting; I think most people will go into next season with some optimism we are four or five players away from being a good side and I think he’s the man but this season has been totally miserable and we all need a break

@DTS4th I haven’t enjoyed watching them since last December in all honesty, bar the odd game. The less I have to watch them right now the better. The amount of football these lot have played as well, a time out for one season won’t do us any harm.

I disagree that no European football is a good thing. Having one game a week is seriously depressing. 2016/17 was great because we went and won the league but watching other teams in Europe coupled with the fact we will be nowhere near winning the league is awful

@Luke1990W I get the argument but I do love watching Chelsea (aside from the last few months) and also you get some great aways in the lower European comps. Your city or Arsenal away in both first rounds of the cups like 2022/23 to have literally nothing to look forward too

@DTS4th It’s not about the quality, it’s more just the sheer volume of games and constant chopping and changing of the team, additional injuries etc. Just trim the squad back, build a proper core finally, then let them actually be coached and play together consistently.
