It’s much easier to trade the front side of the move vs. the back side. We’ll see $HOOD as an example. During the front side of the move, price is surfing on all major moving averages with dips getting bought during the ascent. Structure is clear, price action is consistent, and the trend is clearly moving higher. Moving averages are guiding you and as long as price stays above, you know you’re in the clear to buy dips. *Bonus if the broader market is trending higher too. On the backside of the move, moving averages are curling down on top of price, pops are sold, and the primary trend is down. Trading the backside of the move is much more difficult and your win rate will be lower. You want as many odds in your favor as possible while trading. In short: Look for stocks having their front side moves to increase your chances of success.
