God forbid someone breaks into my house — my only real priority is protecting my family. Secondary objective: not permanently destroying my hearing in the process. Guns are stupidly loud indoors. A suppressor drops it to around 120 dB — still loud, but it won’t leave everyone in the house with ringing ears for life. So I decided to buy one. Then I remembered I’m a law-abiding citizen in America. That means I get the pleasure of FBI background checks, a passport-style photo, all ten fingerprints, ATF registration, and a two-month wait for the government to decide if I’m worthy of owning a metal tube. A metal tube. One that’s completely harmless by itself. One that doesn’t even make a gun movie-silence quiet. The whole process is ridiculous. I already legally own the guns. Adding a suppressor shouldn’t turn me into a suspected criminal. Anyone else think this is completely backwards?

🚨 Do you understand what SCOTUS is about to decide? in 1857, the Supreme Court ruled that Black Americans... even those born free on American soil.. could never be citizens.. it was called the Dred Scott decision.. one of the most shameful rulings in legal history.. it took a Civil War and 360,000 Union deaths to fix it.. in 1868, Congress passed the 14th Amendment.. "all persons born or naturalized in the United States are citizens".. no exceptions.. no asterisks.. they wrote it that way on purpose.. so no government could ever again decide who counts as American on this soil.. it has stood for 156 years.. Trump signed an executive order trying to end it.. not a constitutional amendment.. not an act of Congress.. an executive order.. and SCOTUS is about to decide if that's allowed.. here's what nobody's saying out loud.. this isn't about immigration.. if a president can override the 14th Amendment with an executive order.. there is no amendment a president cannot override with an executive order.. one executive order just did what the Confederacy couldn't.

@SirBylHolte And that’s what makes it bad. Haven’t seen it yet, so can’t judge. Some race/gender swap has been pretty clever (see: SANDMAN series Netflix). But when the entire premise is ‘like the last time, but diverse’ you are doomed.

Pay Attention: All they're telling you about the "X-Files" reboot is that it's race-swapped. No plotlines. No conspiracies. No character details. Just that the lead characters will be NOT WHITE. Why? I like having police, a court system, prisons, etc… I agree it would be lovely if we lived in a world where everyone carried a card indicating what their money went towards, and if you didn’t pay for it, you couldn’t use the service.
