I literally state that young people like to fixate on social media. Its just what they do but said they dont have to. A sad notion as its just how the world is now. Speculation means noting even if they get it right. Friends will want to see it. The hype factor of film will draw in people. You may have a handful that stay at home and read a wiki page to see what happens but I see this film breaking records again. Nintendo knows how to milk and make money better these days than say their GameCube days. They may be naive on a few things but I see this playing in the favor. The likes alone on the original post are already insane

They fixate on every bit of social media & will speculate until they get it right, lose interest & forego watching the movie = less $ for Nintendo.

No I’m actually in shock. Why would the Mario movie account post that? 💀😭 That would’ve been the coolest reveal in the movie because it indicates they are working towards a Smash Bros Movie.

Im not talking the pics im talking all stores. You dont flop a street date leak at multiple stores early by accident does not typically happen. I still remember walking in target and seeing super shadow and going well there goes one obvious surprise. Or the funniest was going to see dragon ball super broly at a early fan showing and them handing out trading cards showing off gogeta even though no trailer at that point did. 🤣 All that said its noting to be upset about. Whats done is done. Now is to hope this movie delivers a mega hit next week. It will still be good im sure even if we know Fox is in it. 🦊

Im a marketing major and have seen this done dozens of times over the decades for games and films. Heck i remember when most here are don't remember the wii being leaked back when it was originally the revolution. But on one hand I see it as smart from a sense of it as you said means more money and seats bought. But the gamer side you lose a bit of the surprise but we dont even know his role yet so there's still reason to be excited. But all that said yes you can mute the title. I know social media is more prevalent in young people's life's these days but doesn't mean you have to see everything.

@Sonic_Guy_14 @SamsProStation True. But a lot of movie trailers over the years spoil things. And if not the movies the toy lines do. Sort of like how super sonic and shadow were shown in toys before film dropped for sonic 3.

Um....yes? This is a film not just for Mario fans but also movie goers in general. You try to appeal to both and the broker audience would probably rattle the internet at a smash bros title. Also it could be for someone still one the fence who might not care for mario games overall but remembers star fox. The movies are going for a larger universe set series.

@DVberrytan @SamsProStation Right… so I guess the sequel to the Mario movie that’s including Yoshi & adapting content from the Galaxy games weren’t already exciting reasons for general audiences to see them, but surely a character they DON’T know about is gonna be the one that reels them in… 😑
