1/A🧵to address some of the errors in this report. Bill C7 was a response to Truchon, a case brought by 2 PWDs that affirmed the Carter decision, essentially that prognosis does not determine eligibility for #MAID. It was not an action of government, it was a *reaction*.

For ppl who are diagnosed with conditions that lead to diminished capacity, the lack of legal advance requests is a huge barrier. We are optimistic that this national consultation will lead to swift federal legislation – following the leadership and blueprint developed by Quebec.
